When the mother first encountered Emma, she responded to the child’s immediate needs: shelter from the cold, something to eat, and comfort. The little girl had lost her parents and been placed in an orphanage where she lacked the warmth she needed. Determined to offer lasting security, the mother committed to adopting her.
The process took months of rigorous paperwork, but her resolve never faded. Eventually, the adoption became official, and Emma became her daughter.
