When I learned why my husband didn’t meet me at the hospital discharge with our newborn, I went pale.

When Sarah had a baby boy, she imagined it would be her best day. However, an unforeseen betrayal wounded and isolated her. She packed everything and left with their newborn, forcing her husband to examine his priorities.

A few weeks ago, I gave birth to Luc, our darling kid. everything was a long pregnancy with sleepless nights and fear, but holding Luc was worth everything.

Simple plan: my husband, Tom, would pick us up from the hospital and start our new family life. I envisioned him holding Luc, beaming. That image got me through tough times.

My excitement grew as our discharge day approached. Luc was snuggled in a blanket, and every sound warmed my heart.

Each minute passed slower as I checked the clock. Tom should have arrived by now. My phone has no missed calls or messages. My exhilaration turned to anxiety.
